    When arriving in the Aberdeen Proving Ground area, the nearest major airport is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport which is located about 35 miles from the base. From the Baltimore airport to the base, take I-95 North to Exit 80 (Riverside/Churchville), then MD 543 South to US40 East and then MD 715 to the Visitor Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

If driving to Aberdeen Proving Ground, the base is accessed by traveling on Maryland Route 22 to Route 136 and 135. Follow Route 22 where it intersects Route 40 and then goes past the main gate of the post. Temporary lodging is available at Swan Creek Inn for those waiting to secure more permanent housing.
